To be a doctor, there is a lot of risk involved. This is why every doctor has medical insurance in case something was to happen in a case that would be considered "malpractice." In order to have this insurance doctors do have to pay every month the insurance company so that if a lawsuit is filed against them, the insurance company has the money to cover it. Sometimes hospitals cover medical insurance for doctors as well.
