In order to have this insurance doctors do have to pay every month the insurance company so that if a lawsuit is filed against them, the insurance company has the money to cover it. Sometimes hospitals cover medical insurance for doctors as well. The type of insurance depends on the field that the doctor is in, therefore the strength of the insurance is different from doctor to doctor.
