Many say that the increase on rates have caused doctors and many others in the health care industry are loosing there jobs. Not everyone thinks that medical malpractice is the only reason to blame for the job loss, but recently the general accounting office has found multiple reasons. There are three main reasons for the decrease in jobs: 1) special medical court hearings,2) limits on non economic damages, 3) and the losses of the statue of limitation actions.ᅠ The department of health and human resources stated that 2 percent of the nations health care spending goes toward medical malpractice, and 8 to 9 percent of all overall expenses. Congress has been continuing out on medical malpractice reform. Many members of congress have been limiting the sum of which you receive from claiming non-economic damages.
