Medication Malpractice

Medication malpractice is a term that refers to an event where a physician made a mistake with medication. It can also refer to a medication that has caused severe injury or harm. For instance, if a physician or other medical professional writes a prescription to a patient for the wrong medication, gives a patient a sample of the wrong medication, or prescribes medication to a patient without checking to see if it will interact with their other medications - it can be considered medication malpractice. Another example of medication malpractice is if a physician prescribes a medication he or she knows to be somewhat defective - such as medications that cause liver failure, heart conditions or other dangerous conditions. Both of these things could enable an individual to file for compensation.
