I believe that the doctor who did an epidural for me during my 3rd pregnancy was wrong for what she did. The doctor poked the needle into me at least 17 times, that were visible on my lower back, some even now. She put the epidural in wrong at one time and I was in pain and told her it was in wrong, she continued to try with the epidural when she should have quit doing it after a few trys when she couldn’t do it. She tried over 17 times and now I have horrible back pain as a result from it.
I cannot lay flat on my back anymore without being in pain, I cant sit for long periods of time without being in pain, I sometimes at night have electric shock like feelings in my legs at night I believe are from nerve damage from the epidural when it was in wrong. I also have had horrible migraine headaches at least every other day which I didn’t have before. A nurse that I talked to told me that she thought the Dr should have stopped and what she did by keeping on trying was negligent on her part.

Answer:
Errors during any type of medical procedure can lead to significant undue injury, but invasive procedures such as administration of an epidural require a high level of skill and medical care. If the doctor negligently administers an epidural, and causes damages such as happened to you, you have a legal right to pursue a medical negligence claim.
You should talk to a medical malpractice lawyer to find out the strength of you case and learn what options would be the best.
