Washington State Physician Medical License Revoked
OLYMPIA -- King County physician Charles Momah (MD00030669) has agreed to permanent license revocation on charges that included sexual misconduct in the treatment of female patients. Momah has agreed never to practice or apply for a license to practice medicine in Washington or another state or province.
The Medical Quality Assurance Commission and the state Department of Health have accepted the revocation. The order is part of an agreement in which Momah does not dispute the allegations, and the commission found that he committed unprofessional conduct.
Momah's license has been suspended since September 10, 2003, when health officials first learned of a rape allegation by a patient. The charges included moral turpitude, sexual contact with patients, incompetence, negligence or malpractice and fraud.
Momah was convicted in criminal court last November of two counts of rape and two counts of indecent liberties. Momah was sentenced to 20 years in prison and has appealed the conviction.
